A Good Year.

On Movie Central now, A Good Year starring Russell Crowe and directed by Ridley Scott never seemed to click with anyone according to metacritic. It sure runs by the numbers and there are never any real surprises however it is enjoyable and entertaining. Ridley Scott and Crowe would not be my first choice for farce but I sure like the way the film was made. Fast pace, quick cuts, this is not so much a slow page turner. More like page flipping. Don't blink or you'll miss something. Crowe is fun to watch. Kind of channels his character from The Insider while trying to play it cool in an odd British way (that would be "trying to play it cool" and not succeeding). A nice film.

(I'd recommend this over Crowe's latest - 3:10 to Yuma.)
