My Winnipeg to save airline industry

Guy Maddin discusses his film My Winnipeg with Uptown Magazine.
Q: How is it that I saw the film on the airplane, a few weeks ago?

A: They ... forgot that they had made a prior deal with Air Canada. Actually, this might be unprecedented - where a film is released on an airplane before it is released in theatres. It's a little experiment Air Canada is using to try and boost ticket sales in the face of rising fuel costs.
As much as I am not a fan of Maddin (except the short Heart film), my movie curiosity might just get me to pay the bucks to see My Winnipeg on the big screen.
