Second-generation Star Wars parent

Neat story in the National Post about the effect Star Wars has on a parent, Scott Stinson, who is now introducing the movies to his son. And having to explain the situation with Han Solo (the carbonite manoeuver) in Empire, like his parents did to him.
And my parents did spend an inordinate amount of time reassuring me that Han Solo really did appear to survive the freezing process and that he was bound to be rescued.

So, it was a bit of an odd experience to find myself giving those same assurances to my six-year-old son as he watched the movie for the first time.
