The Decade in Review

For some reason, I never really caught onto the fact that in a few weeks, we start a new decade. Seriously, I never thought about it until recently. For instance, the At The Movies guys talk about their Best of the Decade films.

Now its the NPR music division who is going at the decade in review like nothing else. As trivial as this actually sounds, it is a very interesting topic as it includes not just musicians, best albums and such but topics about music. How music and our relationship with music has changed over the past 10 years. The All Songs Considered group starts it off with a very good discussion of music trends over the past decade.
In this edition of All Songs Considered, host Bob Boilen looks back at some of the defining trends, sounds and historic moments that made the '00s stand out, in a roundtable discussion with Monitor Mix blogger Carrie Brownstein, All Songs Considered producer Robin Hilton and NPR Music editor Stephen Thompson.
Pour a glass of a favourite beverage, sit back, listen and enjoy.
